The Mosman Council is a local government area on the Lower North Shore of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Mosman was constituted a separate Municipality on 11 April 1893. Since 1868, the area had been part of the Borough of St. Leonards and known as the Mosman Ward. His Excellency, The Honourable Sir Frederick Matthew Darley, Lieutenant Governor proclaimed Mosman’s separation from the Borough of St Leonards.
